Prof Alex is well known for being the first person in Singapore to carry the title of Chief Information Officer (CIO) when he was appointed CIO of the Housing and Development Board of Singapore. He championed the use of IT to re-engineer business processes to enhance the customer experience and service. He did it by rolling out a strategic IT plan based on developing customer-centric instead of agency-centric applications.

Jeff Paine is a senior consultant at Digital Zyndicate and  a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in public sector engagement and business development in Southeast Asia and Central Asia. He has held leadership roles at Visa, Microsoft, Reuters, and Royal Bank of Canada. Jeff has a strong track record of building constructive government relations, establishing public-private partnerships, and advocating for policies that drive economic growth. He has managed international teams, exceeded business development quotas, and spoken at thought leadership forums. Jeff’s extensive experience includes working with international organizations such as the UN, World Bank, and ADB. He is known for his commitment to fostering strong relationships between corporations and governments.

Andrew Hodges is a senior consultant at Digital Zyndicate and as a technology strategist and innovator his long-term capacity in establishing vision for customers and advising directions is key. With a strength in leadership his communications ability across broad cultures amplify change including transformative directions and influence. He builds teams and delivers results.

Andrew has held many roles spanning his 35+ years in the ICT industry, a consistent theme is that with his passion for technology he has driven engagements in Public Sector. These included domains such as Cloud, eGovernment, innovation, and Citizen Services in both the mature and emerging markets across Asia, and in all levels of Government. In the information security domain, and prior to AWS, he was a Chief Information Security Officer and Privacy Officer. He is well credentialed with certifications in ethical hacking, penetration testing, forensics, encryption technologies, and joined a small but growing group who have achieved the recently ANSI accredited Certified Chief Information Security Officer. John Cann is a senior consultant at Digital Zyndicate. He joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the Asia Principal Business Development Manager for Public Sector Financial Institutions in December 2019, with responsibility for leading the company’s regional expansion for Information Technology and Cloud Computing in both developed and developing countries in Asia. Prior to joining AWS he was the Asia Pacific Senior Regional Business Development Director for Microsoft’s International Organizations Group.

He was responsible for overseeing and managing the firm’s relationships with multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors, governments, partners, and beneficiaries on projects throughout the region.  Prior to Microsoft, Mr. Cann was a Principal Development Specialist with DAI responsible for program management and ICT technical assistance on USAID and other Donor/IFI projects globally. Mr. Cann has more than 25 years of experience designing and implementing information technology solutions in some of the most difficult environments in the world.  Mr. Cann holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Virginia, and a Masters in International Business and Commerce Policy from George Mason University in the United States.
